Mobilink Torchbearers reach out to underprivileged students

Islamabad: 28 November 2011 – Mobilink Foundation Torchbearers reached out to students at the Pehli Kiran School System through the JAQ Educational Trust, donating art supplies and story books, as well as recycled skins for the insulation of eight (8) schools.

Torchbearers spent three days at one of the Pehli Kiran schools in Islamabad, engaging the children with fun activities such as face-painting, drawing and singing. The Torchbearers also utilized the opportunity to emphasize the importance of education and its benefits for the children and the country as a whole.

Omar Manzur, Director PR and CSR, Mobilink highlighted, "The Mobilink Foundation and its Torchbearers remain committed to the betterment of lives across Pakistan. The donation of art supplies, story books and recycled skins to the Pehli Kiran Schools are a token of Mobilink's support and continued effort to give back to Pakistan's children, who are the future of the nation."

Each Mobilink Foundation Torchbearer is empowered to clock an average of five (5) dedicated hours per month during official working hours.

ABOUT PEHLI KIRAN SCHOOL SYSTEM
The Pehli Kiran School System is a network of eight non-formal community based schools that are run by the JAQ Education Trust to promote literacy and primary education among children of low-income/poverty-stricken homes. 1200 students and 26 teachers are part of this system.
