Mobilink creates Mobistore - a digital content Marketplace
Islamabad: June 01, 2010 –Mobilink, Pakistan’s market leader in cellular services and part of Orascom Telecom Holding has launched a new Value-Added Service (VAS) named “Mobistore.”
Aimed to promote user-generated content in the country, Mobistore enables content owners and developers to interactively showcase their content without any charges or subscription fee. Employing the Mobilink network, the creators have the unique opportunity to connect to over 30 million users through this platform. Wasif Mustafa, Director Value Added Services, Mobilink said; “Sources estimate that by 2013, there will be more than 114 million user-generated content creators. We have launched Mobistore to ensure that Pakistan stays ahead of global trends in technology while also facilitating local content which I think will open a window to a multitude of socio-economic opportunities for the local IT industry.” |

Through Mobistore, Mobilink users can open their own mobile-storefronts and publish or catalogue their content through an elaborate commerce and payment engine, along with an over-the-air content delivery system for mobile to mobile exchange. Once registered, users can place and offer numerous categories of digital content for sale, including all sorts of Video, Audio, Images, Themes or Applications.
