Mobilink sponsors Qaqlasht Festival in picturesque Chitral

ISLAMABAD: May 5, 2008 - Mobilink, the leader in cellular communication with more than 30 million customers and part of Orascom Telecom, recently sponsored the Qaqlasht Festival in the picturesque Chitral. Attendance at the festival numbered in thousands with people coming from all over the country and abroad.

The festival is named after the Qaqlasht plateau which is approximately 14 km long and 4 km wide, situated to the right of the Hindu Kush range in Northern Chitral. The Qaqlasht Festival is a famous cultural and sporting event which has been held every year for the last 3 years. The three-day festival, held from April 25-27 included matches of Freestyle Polo, Football, Cricket and Tug-of-War. Various stalls of dry fruits, honey, and local handcrafts were also present.
