Mobilink supports Cricket Tournament For Physically Challenged People
Islamabad – 23 August 2008: Mobilink, the country’s market leader in cellular communication with a growing base of over 32 million customers and subsidiary of the Orascom Telecom group is supporting the 4th National Physically Challenged Cricket Tournament at City Officers Club, KMC Sports Complex in
Karachi. The event is being organized by the Association for Rehabilitation of Challenged People (ARCP).
Mobilink in association with ARCP a non-profit organization which is also aligned with International Labor Organization has played an active role in supporting the skills of such special people to prove that they enjoy life and are part of the society. The ARCP is struggling to bring changes for people with physical challenges and are determined to make a difference in their lives.
Asif Pervaiz, Director Customer Services, Mobilink Pakistan while expressing his views said, “Mobilink
believes in promoting social inclusiveness at all levels, and endeavors to enhance the quality of life of the
less privileged, especially people with disabilities. As the largest cellular operator in the country with a
vision to reshape lives, we try to do our part in promoting sports at the grass roots level; not only for ablebodied
people through initiatives such as the Mobilink Hunt for Heroes but also for physically challenged
individuals through such tournaments. We hope that our modest support will bring happiness in their
special lives.”
The full-day Cricket Tournament will comprise of 8 teams each having 6 players along with 2 helpers. The
tournament will be a 20 overs match and each team will be playing 10 overs. The best teams will be qualifying for the semi-finals and Final Match on the same day thus creating a full-day of fun, excitement and challenge for the special people. |
