Mobilink first Pakistani operator to sign UNGC
ISLAMABAD: October 10, 2008 – Mobilink, the country’s market leader in cellular services with more
than 32 million customers and part of Orascom Telecom, becomes the first telecom operator to represent
Pakistan at the prestigious United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) platform.
The UNGC which is the world's largest, global corporate citizenship initiative, is a framework for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption. By becoming a member of this distinguished community, Mobilink’s CSR efforts will be further geared towards promoting these
principles.
Commenting on Mobilink’s induction, Sadia Khurram, Director Corporate Social Responsibility, Mobilink

gives us an opportunity to further focus our business and corporate responsibility objectives, while
