Mobilink support to cinema wins nomination for 'Khuda Kay Liyay' at Cairo International Film Festival

Karachi: December 10, 2007 - Mobilink in collaboration with private TV channel continued in its resolve to support the revival of Pakistan cinema by hosting the Cast and Production team of Pakistan's internationally renowned movie 'Khuda Kay Liyay' to take part and win a nomination at the world-renowned Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) recently.

Khuda Kay Liyay which premiered at the Festival on November 29 was hailed as one of the best international productions by the Pakistan film industry and was well received at a special 'Pakistan Night' organized by Mobilink in Cairo. The gala event which was attended by the diplomatic community and the Who's Who of the city and the CCIF projected the talented and soft image of Pakistan. The packed event showcased the couture collections of Deepak Parwani and Nilofer Shahid with choreography and event management by Frieha Altaf of Catwalk productions.

Produced and directed by Shoaib Mansoor, the film has been running to packed houses in cinemas across the country in Pakistan and has received rave reviews in both national and international media. Film-star Shaan and actress Iman Ali, Faisal Khan and Austin Marie Sayre have played key roles in the movie with renowned superstar Naseeruddin Shah in supporting role.

Shoaib Mansoor, the creative genius behind KKL, is a well recognized Director in the Pakistan Film scene. His bold script and cinematography are the key elements behind the success of KKL nationally and internationally. He is attending the ceremony to be held on Friday the 7th of December in Cairo where the awards for the nominations are to be announced late evening.

The celebrations of the 31st Cairo International Film Festival 2008 commenced this year with the opening night on November 27 with a glamorous star-studded opening ceremony, and will continue till December 7 with a dazzling closing ceremony and distribution of awards, both in the presence of Honorary President and international superstar Omar Sharif.

The 31st edition is brimming with surprises, novel projects, digital film making symposiums and scores of exciting events; the current edition of the CIFF is dedicated to the soul of the late Egyptian comedian "Naguib El Rihany".
